Engineered Quiet.

It's a phrase that's catching on in the automotive industry worldwide. It comes from the Alliance's ability to localize a source of unwanted noise in a vehicle, analyze it's characteristic frequencies and amplitude, and develop a solution that not only attenuates the sound, but does so efficiently and cost effectively.

Within our Center for Automotive Excellence, the Alliance team of experienced NVH and structural engineers will help you create a quieter vehicle – while reducing assembly time, cost, and weight. Because the quiet isn't added on: It's Engineered In.

May We Propose Value?

The Alliance engineers ask themselves a series of tough questions about your application. Can we make a real difference in quality? Will we save you money, vehicle weight, and/or assembly time? Then they get to work on the answers, which are clearly stated in the Alliance's Value Proposition. Wherever Quiet Steel® has been used, the results have been immediate, quantifiable and significant. Even individual components made from Quiet Steel® can have a dramatic effect on the overall NVH performance of your vehicle.

Aside from the clear acoustic benefits, in most instances, the Alliance has also delivered lower weight and reduced system cost through the elimination of add- on sound deadening materials.

Once an application has been identified it doesn't stop there.

Technical expertise and sophisticated modeling tools — such as finite element analysis — help us turn the new application into a functional Quiet Steel® design with equivalent stiffness to the original solid steel design.

As for fabrication, Quiet Steel® — with its durability and stability — is production-proven for most routine metalworking and fastening processes making it an ideal choice for body panels. It is currently being stamped with transfer, progressive, and deep draw processes as well as being resistance, MIG, TIG, projection and stud- welded at numerous facilities worldwide.

State-of-the-art simulation provides comprehensive forming analysis to illustrate that the mechanical properties of the steel substrate remain unchanged during the Quiet Steel® forming process. And, advanced testing capabilities show that Quiet Steel®’s adhesion and damping properties remain intact, even after paint baking, thermal aging, oil immersion testing and corrosion testing.
